Rando 北二段: 3ème jour (Taïwan)

5:30AM: on quitte le camp pour le sommet de 無明山.
Dure journée en perspective!

5:30AM: we leave the camp to the peak of 無明山.
A hard day ahead!

On suit la l'arête d'abord dans la forêt.

We walk on the ridge first in the forest.

Il y a beaucoup de Indian pipes (水晶蘭)!

Many Indian pipes can be found!

La route devient plus rocheuse au fur et à measure qu'on s'approche des célèbres falaises de 無明斷崖.

The trail becomes more rocky as we come nearer to the famous cliffs of 無明斷崖.

Cela commence à grimper!

Starting to climb steep!

9:30AM: on arrive au sommet ouest de 無明西峰.

9:30AM: reaching the west peak of 無明西峰.

Le fameux rocher vertical de 3m.
Pas facile du tout à négocier.

The famous 3m high vertical rock.
Not easy at all to get the its top.

11AM: pause casse-croûte. On a marché 5 heures déjà.

11AM: lunch break. We have been climbing for 5 hrs.

Le très impressionnant sommet de 無明山 et ses célèbres falaises qu'on doit traverser maintenant.
Si près et si loin!

The very impressive peak of 無明山 and its much famed cliffs that we are going to cross now.
So near and so far!

Les choses sérieuses commencent!
Il faut faire très attention à chaque pas.

It is serious business now!
We must be very careful of our steps.

Il ne faut pas avoir la peur de l'altitude, c'est sûr.

Cannot be afraid of heights, for sure.

Heureusement qu'il y a des cordes pour aider.

Fortunately, there are some ropes to help.

On campe plus bas près de la mare de 無明池, dont l'eau est notoirement de couleur café.
Il faut la faire bouillir bien sûr.

We camp a bit lower near the pond of 無明池, notorious for its brown colour water. Need to boil it of course.
