Rando à la montagne Nanhu: 3ème jour (南湖大山, Taïwan)

7AM: le brouillard hélas ne se dissipe pas!
On part quand même vers la montagne Nanhu, 1.9km plus loin.

7AM: the fog is still there!
We still go to Mount Nanhu, 1.9km away.

On ne voit vraiment rien et il caille!

We cannot see anything and it is so cold!

8:20AM: au sommet de 南湖大山 3742m.
Il fait 0 degré et il y a un de ces vents!

The temperature is 0 deg and so windy!

On descend et on va au sommet Est.

Going down and heading to the East peak.

Pas un seul arbre dont le tronc soit droit, ce qui en dit long sur la violence des vents d'ici.

Not a single tree with a straight trunk, proof of the force of the winds here.

On traverse la vallée glaciaire et on arrive au sommet Est. Toujours dans le brouillard total!

We cross the glacier valley and come to the East peak. Still in total fog!

10:45AM: au sommet Est 3637m. Il caille!
Une photo et on s'en va!

Midi: on retourne au chalet.
Rien à faire à part dormir!

Noon: back to the lodge.
Nothing to do except to sleep!

L'après-midi, miracle, le brouillard s'en va!
Enfin, on peut admirer la magnifique vallée glaciaire.
Mais on doit remonter la longue pente demain matin...

In the afternoon, miracle, the fog goes away!
Finally, we can have a nice view of the glacier valley.
But we shall climb back the long steep shale slopes tomorrow morning...
