Réception à l'Hôtel de Ville pour le Nouvel An Chinois (Paris)

On a été avec Stéphane et Sophie à la réception donnée par la Mairie de Paris à l'Hôtel de Ville à l'occasion du Nouvel An Chinois.
Moi, pour voir la Salle des Fêtes d'habitude fermée au grand public; Stéphane, peut-être pour le champagne!

We went to the reception hold by the Mayor of Paris at the Hôtel de Ville for Chinese New Year.
For me, it is to see the Ballroom, usually closed to the public; for Stéphane, maybe for the champagne!

On arrive tôt vers 5:30PM. Les gens patinent encore devant l'Hôtel de Ville.

We come early by 5:30PM. People are still ice-skating in front of the Hôtel de Ville.

6:30PM: on entre par l'escalier d'honneur.

6:30PM: we go inside by the grand staircase.

Nous voilà dans la Salle des Fêtes, plongée dans une lumière un peu trop rouge! Elle est copiée sur la Galerie des glaces du château de Versailles.
Très belle décoration baroque, mais plutôt chargée donc.

Here we are in the Ballroom,
lit in a somehow too strong red. It is a copy of the Hall of mirrors of the Palace of Versailles.
Very nice decoration of baroque style but quite heavy then.

7PM: enfin, le Maire de Paris Bertrand Delanoë arrive et fait son speech, suivi par celui de l'Ambassade de Chine (le monsieur avec l'écharpe rouge).

7PM: finally, the Mayor of Paris Bertrand Delanoë arrives and does his speech, followed by the one from the Chinese Embassy (the man with the red scarf).

7:30PM: le spectacle commence! Evidemment, danse des lions et du dragon.

7:30PM: the show starts! Of course, dance of the lions and of the dragon.

Ensuite, évidemment, la danse des minorités ethniques. Mais bon, la majorité des danseurs n'ont pas l'air d'en faire partie!
Ah mais, ils auraient dû demander à Erchema et 5jin.

Then, of course, the dance of the ethnic minorities. But most performers apparently don't originate from!
Too bad, they should have asked for Erchema and 5jin.

On meurt de chaud et de faim! On s'en va avant la fin du spectacle. Tant pis pour le champagne!
On passe devant Notre Dame de Paris en nocturne. Toujours aussi belle!

It is so hot and we are hungry, so we leave before the end of the show. So much for the champagne!
We pass by Notre Dame of Paris by night. Magnificient as usual!

Expo d'icônes à l'église de la Madeleine (Paris)

Aujourd'hui, on a visité l'église de la Madeleine. Bof bof, style trop pompeux.
La bonne surprise est une expo de reproductions d'icônes d'art bizantin, par les "élèves d'Alicja Kacka-Despringhère". Des couleurs chaudes magnifiques pour faire oublier la grisaille!

We visited the Madeleine Church today. So so, rather overblown architectural style.
The nice surprise is a display of copies of Byzantine icons, by the "students of Alicja Kacka-Despringhère". Magnificent warm colours that help us forget the grey sky!

La crèche de Noël de Notre Dame de Paris (Paris)

Vu que l'éclaircie continue, on va faire un tour à Notre Dame de Paris.
Toujours aussi belle et pas trop de touristes en hiver.

Still a little sunny, so we go strolling around the cathedral of Notre Dame.
Beautiful as usual, and not too many tourists in winter.

Surprise, on peut y voir une très belle crèche de Noël de grande taille à l'intérieur! Couleurs magnifiques.

Boutique Repetto (Paris)

Après la promenade, on part acheter une paire de chaussures Repetto pour une amie. C'est la première fois que je vais à un tel endroit. Ce n'est pas LV mais presque. Pas mal de touristes fébriles aussi!
Le magasin a plein de chaussons de danse car c'est par cela que la marque a débuté. Rose Repetto étant la mère du danseur de ballet Roland Petit.

After the promenade, we go buy Repetto shoes for a friend. It is the first time I go to such a shop. It is not LV but almost. Many excited tourist girls also!
The shop displays many ballet shoes because that is how it all started. Rose Repetto being the ballet dancer Roland Petit's mother.

Joli et très cher, mais apparemment, beaucoup moins qu'à Taïwan.

Nice and very expensive, but apparently, much less than in Taiwan.

Promenade plantée (Paris)

Aujourd'hui, profitant d'une éclaircie, on a décidé d'aller voir la Promenade plantée, qui part de la Bastille jusqu'à la Porte dorée.
La promenade commence en hauteur sur le Viaduc des arts, en suivant une ancienne ligne ferroviaire.
A défaut de verdure et fleurs en hiver, on peut toujours admirer les belles maisons qui la bordent.

Today, a little sunny day, we decided to go discover the "planted promenade" which starts at la Bastille and ends at the Porte dorée.
The promenade starts high, on top of the viaduct of arts, following an ancient railway line.
Not many green leaves or flowers in winter, but we can still admire nice buildings on the way.

Les immeubles bordant la promenade ont souvent une façade impeccable.

The buildings bording the promenade often have a very nicely clean front.

L'église St Antoine des Quatre Vingts, du début 20ème siècle, célèbre pour son orgue symphonique.
D'ailleurs, il y avait une répétition lorsqu'on l'a visitée.

The Church St-Antoine of Quatre Vingts, built in the early 20th century, and hosting a famous symphonic organ.
Musicians were rehearsing when we visited the church.

On refera cette promenade en entier une prochaine fois au printemps!

Rando à la piste de Syakaro 霞喀羅古道 (Taïwan)

Hier, jour de Noël, on est allés avec le club faire la rando de la piste historique de Syakaro, longue de 23km, reliant 清泉石鹿 à 尖石養老.
Départ de 養老 1320m cette fois, vers 8:30AM.
Il faisait très froid! Quelques degrés à peine.

Yesterday, Christmas day, we hiked the 23km-long Syakaro historical trail between 清泉石鹿 and 尖石養老 with our mountain club.

It was very cold! Only a few degrees.

Toute la rando est en forêt. La piste est souvent bien boueuse.

All the hike is in the forest. The trail is often muddy.

On admire de beaux paysages le long de la piste.

We can admire nice scenery along the trail.

5km après, on arrive à la forêt d'érables, destination de la plupart des randonneurs occasionnels. Les feuilles ne sont pas trop rouges mais les couleurs d'hiver quand même très belles.

5km later, we reach the maple forest, destination of most occasional hikers. Leaves are not so red but the winter colours are still very nice.

Surprise! Quelqu'un d'une autre équipe a amené son petit perroquet en promenade!
Les chiens, on en voit souvent en rando, mais un perroquet?
Evidemment la vedette de tous les regards!

Dogs often join hikes, but a parrot?
Definitively the super star of the place!

On traverse beaucoup de ponts sur cette piste.

5km plus tard, on arrive au célèbre pont suspendu de la "Pierre Blanche" (白石吊橋, 1250m).

5km later, we come to the famous "White stone" suspension bridge (白石吊橋, 1250m).

12PM: on grimpe 400m et nous voilà au poste de police de la "Pierre Blanche" (白石派出所, 1615m). Il fut construit par les Japonais il y a 50 ans, puis abandonné, puis récemment rénové et maintenant tout joli tout beau.

12PM: we climb 400m up to 1615m and reach the abandoned police station of the "White stone" (白石派出所), which was constructed by the Japanese 50 years ago. The building has been renovated recently and now looks brand new!

2PM: on repart, après avoir pris un déjeuner copieux et attendu certains co-équipiers plus lents.
Encore 12km à faire.
Un pont de corde, tout neuf et tout joli.

Au passage, l'héroïne du jour: cette petite fille de 10 ans qui a fait les 23km en tête avec nous!

5:30PM: enfin, presque à l'arrivée! Il commence à faire sombre! Et il fait froid!
On a finalement fait cette belle rando de 23km en 9 heures. Mais on a dû attendre les plus lents jusqu'à 8PM!

5:30PM: finally, almost done with this nice but long hike! The sky is getting dark and it is very cold!
We did the 23km in 9hrs, but the slower teammates needed 2 hrs more till 8PM!

Rando à 鳶嘴山 2180m et 稍來山 2307m (Taïwan)

Hier, on est partis à 5:30AM pour faire la rando de 鳶嘴山 et 稍來山 au centre de Taïwan. Nous voici au poste de police à 7:30AM pour enregistrer le permis d'entrée en montagne.

Yesterday, we left at 5:30AM for the hike of 鳶嘴山 and 稍來山 in central Taiwan. Here we are at 7:30AM at the police station to get the mountain entry permit.

Cela commence par une balade dans la forêt de pins et rhododendrons.

It starts with a stroll in the forest of pines and rhododendrons.

Puis, c'est le clou de la rando, avec escalade de la montagne de granite de 鳶嘴山. Pas très difficile.

Then, it is rock climbing of the mountain 鳶嘴山. Not very difficult and much fun.

Le héros du jour: un petit chien téméraire qui a aussi fait l'escalade tout seul!

Hero of the day: a little fearless dog who climbed the rocks by himself!

Faut descendre maintenant et aller à la montagne 稍來山 2307m, 2km plus loin.
Les bouchons commencent, bloqués par des randonneurs très très lents, qui ont peur du vide.

Time to climb down and go to the other peak of 稍來山 2307m, 2km away.
Traffic jams slow down the descent, due to some very very slow climbers, who are afraid of height.

Finalement, on arrive à la forêt d'érables.
Beaucoup de monde venu admirer les feuilles rouges d'automne, mais pas terrible cette année!
Un peu deçue mais une rando très sympa tout de même en ce jour ensoleillé d'hiver!

Finally, we reach the maple forest.
Many people coming for appreciation of the autumnal red leaves. But not so spectacular this year!
A little disappointing but still a very nice hike on a sunny winter day!
