We went to the castle of Champs-sur-Marne with the parents, Ahi, and HiJang.
It is of the 18th century. The Princess of Conti and the Marquise of Pompadour lived there.

Le temps était très changeant  ce jour-là!

Weather was changing fast that day!

The castle is like a mini-Versailles, but without the crowd of tourists, and access to the park is free.
Nice visit for those who live nearby.

L'intérieur du château (payant).

The interior of the castle (needs entrance fee).

The Chinese on the mural tapestry is said to be the Emperor KangXi  (康熙).

By the way, we can see paper dresses in all the rooms because there was an exposition called "Paper dreams" by Isabelle de Borchgrave back then.

We went to the show "Van Gogh, starry night" at the Atelier des Lumieres.
Tickets must be pre-purchased (14.5 euros) on their website. Quickly sold out.
Many people, probably because of spring holidays.

The show consists in a projection of Van Gogh paintings on the walls, floor, and ceiling of the showroom, all in music.
30min long.

There are so many people we can hardly walk in the showroom and enjoy the paintings through different angles, as suggested in the promotional video.

Quand même un très beau spectacle.

Still a beautiful experience.

A recommander!

Like always when we are back in France, we like to stroll in the forest of Ferrieres, just behind home.

It is spring, so the forest is very green.
We spotted rabbits, deers, magpies, crows, and heard cuckoos...

Ideally, one should visit the forest on bike as it is rather large.

This is the beautiful Saint-Jean oak tree, as labeled on the map.

Le même chêne un matin de brume.
Une autre ambiance.

The same oak tree on a foggy morning.
Another kind of feeling.

The next generation in the making.
Inside the plastic tubes are baby oak trees.

Someone also transformed a dead oak tree into outdoor sculptures.

Here, at the Half Moon crossroad, fallen oak trees are waiting to be transported away.
I guess these are the trunks that are used for the wood beams under the roof of the Notre Dame cathedral.

The smaller trunks will be used as firewood.

We have just  spent a week in France.
Little Flower wanted to sneak into the suitcase, but did not work out.

Straight to Notre Dame of Paris, or whatever remains of it.

On ne peut pas s'en approcher.
Des policiers armés montent la garde.

We can't get near now.
Armed policemen are guarding the access.

Quelle catastrophe!

What a disaster!
No more roof but a large white tarp instead.
Unfortunately, this is what the cathedral will look like for many long years.

Let's go to the gardens of Luxembourg nearby.
Many people enjoying a nice sunbath.

A Chinese couple was having a wedding photoshoot.
The photographer was instructing them to take all kinds of romantic poses, to the amusement of Parisians passing by.

Yesterday, we went hiking 五指山, not far from our home.
五指山 means "the mountain with 5 fingers", because that is what it looks like.

8AM: on part du temple

8AM: departure from the temple

C'est parti.

Here we go.

The trail is (too) well maintained, with stairs, etc...

Every 100m are marked by a monkey statue.

9AM: the trail is quite steep actually.
We come to the place called 一線天, which roughly means "slit in the sky".

Because of the narrow passage between two big rocks.
Very nice.

We can see and hear the music coming from the temples underneath.

10:20AM: on arrive au sommet du pouce.

10:20AM: we come to the peak of the thumb.

10:30AM: au sommet de index.

10:30AM: at the peak of the index.

We continue along the ridge of the 5 fingers.
So up and down.

10:50AM: au sommet du  majeur. Le plus haut à 1062m.

10:50AM: at the peak of the middle finger, the highest at 1062m.

Some buildings can be found there, kind of local radio transmission stations.

One should not hike this mountain in summer, it is swarming with mosquitos.

11:20AM: au sommet de l'annulaire.

11:20AM: at the peak of the ring finger.

On voit JuDong 竹東 en bas.

JuDong lies underneath.

11:30AM: at the peak of the baby finger.
Now, round trip back to the thumb.

Need to climb back to the ring finger. Long slope.

12:30AM: retour au pouce!

12:30PM: back to the thumb!

1:20PM: we follow a trail down to the bamboo temple.
Most hikers actually come up from here.

Le temple de bambou.

The bamboo temple.

Then, we come to the temples that we saw from above on the trail.
From here, we walk 30min on the paved road and back to the departure point, the temple
