La tour Saint-Jacques à Châtelet (Paris, France)

 

Nous sommes rentrés en France début Octobre. 

Comme toujours, les chattes ont tenté de s'incruster, comme ici Petite Rousse.

We went back to France at the beginning of October.

The kitties as usual wanted to join too, like Little Ginger.

Première balade comme toujours au Quartier Latin, ici, Notre-Dame. Elle ne sera ré-ouverte au public qu'en Décembre.

Pas mal de touristes, mais peu d'Asiatiques.

First stroll at the Latin Quarters, here, the cathedral of Notre-Dame, which will re-open in December.

Many tourists, but few from Asia.

Oui, il y a encore du boulot apparemment.

Seems still much work to do.

L'Hôtel de Ville, pas pressé de se défaire des décorations des Jeux Olympiques.

The Hotel de Ville, still reluctant to remove the decorations of the Olympic Games.

On continue notre promenade et voilà qu'on arrive à la Tour Saint-Jacques à Châtelet, un patrimoine mondial Unesco.

L'occasion de la visiter pour la première fois.

La tour de 52m de haut est tout ce qui reste de l'Eglise gothique de Saint-Jacques-de la Boucherie du 16ème siècle.

We continue our stroll and come to the Saint-Jacques Tower at Châtelet, an Unesco Word Heritage.

Perfect time to pay it a visit.

The 52m high tower is the only remains of the 16th century gothic Church of Saint-Jacques de la Boucherie.

La visite se fait en petits groupes avec un guide et dure une heure environ.

Statue de Blaise Pascal au milieu, parce qu'il a paraît-il fait des expériences scientifiques ici.

The visit takes 1 hour and in small groups with a guide.

At the center of the tower is a statue of Blaise Pascal, said to have done some scientific experiments here.

On accède au toit par un très étroit escalier en spirale de 300 marches.

We go to the roof by a very narrow spirale staircase of 300 steps.

Une fois au toit, superbe vue panoramique sur Paris!

Notre Dame, la Saint Chapelle, les Invalides...

Sacré Coeur, Eglise  Saint-Eustache, Forum des Halles...

Et bien sûr, la Tour Eiffel, Quartier commercial de la Défense...

And of course, the Eiffel Tower, La Défense business area...
