Montagnes 干卓萬群峰: 2ème jour, il fait beau! (Taïwan)

5AM: on commence la grimpe.
9AM: il fait beau et on passe de la forêt à la prairie.
C'est le réservoir 萬大水庫 au loin.

5AM: we start climbing today.
9AM: the weather is fine and we pass from the forest to the green bamboo meadows.
We can see the dam 萬大水庫.

11AM: on arrive au pied du 1er sommet 干卓萬山.
Pause déjeuner!

11AM: we come to the foot of the 1st peak 干卓萬山.
Lunch break!

12PM: 干卓萬山 3284m.
Mon 63ème sommet de plus de 3000m. Yeah!

My 63rd summit of 3000+m (百岳). Yeah!

12:30PM: on arrive à la fameuse faille de 干卓萬斷崖!
Il faut traverser tout ça et négocier 3 passages de falaise pour aller au sommet d'en face.

12:30PM: we reach the famous fault-scarp of 干卓萬斷崖!
We shall walk over the ridge and pass 3 cliffs to get to the end.

Le premier passage est facile.
Une petite démonstration!

The first pass is easy.
A little demonstration!

Pour le 2ème passage, ça se corse beaucoup plus!
Il faut avoir les bras, jambes, et les nerfs solides, pour grimper la falaise avec 20kgs sur le dos, et en oubliant que sur la gauche, c'est le vide.

Then, for the 2nd pass, things get much tougher!
Needs strong arms, legs, and nerves, to climb the cliff with a 20kg backpack and ignore the fall on the left side.

2:30PM: en regardant en arrière, quelle vue magnifique!
La traversée a quand même pris 2 heures, et ce n'est pas fini.
Il reste le 3ème passage.

2:30PM: looking back, what a bautiful view!
Takes 2 hrs to cross it, and still the last 3rd pass to go!

3ème et dernier passage: il faut se faufiler sous l'arbre et éviter de dégringoler jusqu'en bas!

3rd and last pass: we crawl under the tree and avoid to slip down the cliff!

3:30PM: après les falaises, la douce prairie verdoyante nous attend!
Quel contraste!

3:30PM: after the cliffs, come the gentle green meadows!
What a difference!

Encore 10 minutes et on arrive enfin au campement!

A last 10min and we finally come to the camp!

On peut enfin se reposer et collecter l'eau pour les jours à venir. 
Il faut bouillir bien sûr.

We can at last relax and prepare water for the days to come.
Needs boiling of course.
