Mongolie 4ème jour: Parc national de Hustai et ses chevaux de Przewalski

 

Aujourd'hui, départ pour le parc national de Hustai, à 100km ouest d'UB.

Notre bus est enlisé dans le sable, heureusement pas loin du parc.

Today, we go to the National Park of Hustai, 100km west of UB.

The bus got stuck in the sand, fortunately not far from the park.

En attendant les secours, on admire la prairie.

While waiting for cavalry, a little break in the meadows.

La cavalerie arrive!  Le parc a dépêché des tout terrains UAZ-452 russes réputés indestructibles, mais pas très confortables.  Voitures très prisées ici, tout comme les Toyota Prius d'occasion.

Pendant ce temps, notre conducteur se débrouillera tout seul pour sortir le bus. Il en a vu d'autres.

Here comes the cavalry!

The park dispatched some Russian 4WD UAZ-452, famously unbreakable but not so comfortable.  Very popular cars here, as are the second hand Toyota Prius.

Meanwhile, our seasoned driver somehow will get the bus on the road again.

Voilà, on arrive au parc.

Here we come to the park.

On peut passer la nuit au parc.

The park also has hotel services.

On part en UAZ voir les célèbres chevaux de Przewalski, espèce endémique de la Mongolie qui a failli disparaître à jamais.

We go on UAZ look for the Przewalski horses, endemic species of Mongolia, brought back from the brink of extinction by international efforts.

Pas facile à voir, mais heureusement, les rangers du parc savent les repérer et ont même installé des lunettes télécospiques pour nous touristes.

The horses are not easy to spot but fortunately, park rangers know how to find them and even installed telecospic glasses for us tourists.

Parce que sinon, ce serait ça, les chevaux!

Otherwise, this would be what the horses look like!

En agrandissant au max.

Les chevaux se planquent le jour pour éviter la chaleur et ne descendent qu'au petit matin ou le soir.  Comme les cerfs de Taïwan qui venaient nous voir lors des randos en montagne le soir.

The horses hide themselves in the day to avoid the heat and come down the mountains only in the early morning or the evening.

Just like the deers of Taiwan who visited us during mountain hikes in the evening.

On aura vu les chevaux, les chiens de prairie, et les aigles.

So, we saw the horses, the marmots, and the eagles.
