Alchi is a small village of 1000 people, famous mainly for its 11th century monastery, founded by Lotsava Rinchen Zanpo, credited for having traveled to Kashmir, translated Buddhist texts in Sanskrit and introduced back to Tibet.
The legend where he planted his walking stick and a tree grew.
Here too, photography is forbidden unfortunately.
Too bad, there are beautiful murals inside.
Some murals have a Persian style actually.
I like this monastery very much.
One can feel an intense concentrate of history and art in this small place.

Scenery around the monastery is nice too.
Alchi is on the Indus river.
A local woman brings her cows back home.
Looks a little like Erchema's mother.
Pas mal.
Le tourisme a bénéficié au Ladakh.
The house where she entered with her cows.
Not bad.
Tourism has a positive impact to Ladakh.
View from the roof of the hotel.
What a view!
