Cachemire-Ladakh: Srinagar, temple Hindu de Shankaracharya (Inde)

 

Le temple Shankaracharya est un temple hindou dédié à Shiva, situé au sommet d'une montagne à 1852m.

Il est presenté comme le plus vieux temple Hindou du Kashmir (8ème siecle?), mais le temple actuel doit être du 17ème siècle.

The Shankaracharya temple, located on top of a mountain at 1852m, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva.

It is said to be the oldest in Kashmir (8th century?), but the existing structure is of the 17th century.

Le temple est tout petit en fait.

The temple is very small actually.

On peut monter tout en haut.

We can climb to the top.

Au sommet, on peut voir la ville de Srinagar.

At the top, we have a good view of Srinagar.

Tous ces bateaux-maisons sur le lac Dal!  Heureusement qu'on habite le lac Nigeem, bien plus calme.

All these boathouses on the Dal lake!  Glad we are staying on the quieter Nigeem lake instead.

La circulation est chaotique mais étrangement fluide aussi. Tout le monde klaxonne et fonce à toute allure, et s'évite mutuellement par magie.

Traffic is chaotic but also strangely fluid. Everybody horns and drives full speed, yet avoids collision mutually by magic.
