Cachemire-Ladakh: Srinagar, jardins de Nichat et Shalimar (Inde)

 

On a visité deux superbes jardins Moghol à Srinagar: ici, le jardin Nishat du 17ème siècle, juste en face du lac Dal.

We visited two wonderful Mughal gardens in Srinagar, here the Nishat garden of the 17th century, just in front of Dal lake.

Les jardins Moghol apparemment ont toujours des allées fleuries bien droites, des grands arbres Chinar, terrasses, cascades et fontaines d'eau.

Mughal gardens apparently always have straight floral alleys, big Chinar trees, terraces, cascades and water fountains.

Les petits locaux ont transformé les terrasses en toboggan aquatique.

The local kids have fun sliding down the terraces.

Ici, un groupe de femmes se prélasse sur la pelouse.

Here, a group of ladies is relaxing on the lawn.

Le jardin a aussi des coins plus Nature.

The garden also has more natural areas.

Il y a 12 terrasses en tout, l'eau de la dernière s'écoulant dans le lac Dal au fond.

There are 12 terraces in total, with water of the lowest terrace flowing into Dal lake.

Le 2ème jardin Moghol visité est celui de Shalimar, aussi du 17ème siecle.

Pareil, allées droites avec fontaines d'eau.

The 2nd visited Mughal garden is the Shalimar, also of the 17th century.

Same, straight alleys with water fountains.

Il pleuvait malheureusement.

Un bel arbre Chinar, où les chiens errants ont trouvé refuge.

It was raining unfortunately. Here, a large Chinar tree, where stray dogs have taken cover.

Au bout de l'allée, un joli pavillon en marbre.

At the end of the alley, stands a beautiful marble pavilion.

Les jardins Moghol ont une charme particulier: structuré mais pas excessif, et de taille plus humaine. 

Shalimar est mon préféré!

Mughal gardens have a special charm: structured but not too much, and of more humane size.

Shalimar is my favourite!
