Rando 八仙山縱走唐麻丹山 (谷關, Taïwan)

Dimanche, on a été de nouveau vers Kukuan faire la rando de 八仙山 2366m à 唐麻丹山 1305m.
11 heures en tout! Je ne la referai pas de sitôt!

Sunday, we went again to Kukuan for the hike of 八仙山 2366m to 唐麻丹山 1305m.
Difficult hike of 11 hrs!

6:40AM: on part de l'entrée moins fréquentée de SungHe 松鶴. 
Il faut grimper 1600m non-stop sur 8km jusqu'au sommet de 2366m.

6:40AM: we start from the less traveled point of SungHe 松鶴.
1600m of non-stop climbing over 8km till the summit at 2366m.

Surprise! On voit une petite vipère vénimeuse "aux cent pas" (百步蛇) avec son petit nez pointu.
Très jolie et se prêtant gentiment à nos séances de photos.
La première fois que j'en vois une.

Surprise! We spot a small poisonous viper "of hundred steps"  (百步蛇)  with its pointed nose. First time for me.
Beautiful snake, besides patient with our photo shootings.

On grimpe, on grimpe...
Cela va être comme ça sur 8km et 4 heures!

Climbing, climbing...
8km slope over 4 hrs!

2ème rencontre animale: un chien très gourmand qui transporte son propre déjeuner, précise son maître.

2nd animal encounter: a hungry dog who carries his own lunch gear, says his master.

10:30AM: les derniers 1.7km. Les plus durs aussi.

On grimpe, on grimpe...

On arrive au vestige du transport à câble. Cette fois au moins, pas de brouillard.

We come to the remains of the cable transportation system. This time, no fog at least.

11:30AM: enfin au 1er sommet de 八仙山 2366m!
Mais il y a encore un 2ème à faire.

12:45PM: on va au 2ème sommet.
On descend 1000m sur 6km, en passant de temps en temps par la ligne de crête.

5PM: enfin au 2ème sommet. On est tous bien crevés! En plus, il pleut.

6:20PM: on descend les derniers 2km.
Ouf, fin de cette rando longue et crevante!

Arc-en-ciel avant le typhon (Taïwan)

Un joli arc-en-ciel avant l'arrivée du typhon Temkin demain.
Les vacances de Ahi  à Taïwan sont ainsi gâchées!

Rando 屋我尾山縱走東卯山 (1796m & 1690m, Taïwan)

Hier, entre le va-et-vient des typhons et éboulements, on a pu enfin faire 2 sommets d'affilée dans la région de Kukuan: de 屋我尾山 1796m à 東卯山 1690m (parcours de 1 à 4).

Yesterday, between the come & go of typhoons and landslides, we could finally climb 2 summits in a row in the Kukuan area: from 屋我尾山 1796m to 東卯山 1690m (point 1 to 4).

8:15AM: la rando commence à partir de la borne 31.2K de la route de 大雪山林道.

8:15AM: the hike starts from the point 31.2K of the road of 大雪山林道.

9:30AM: 2.3km plus tard, on arrive au sommet de 屋我尾山 1796m. Facile!

9:30AM: 2.3km later, we reach the summit of 屋我尾山 1796m. Easy!

On part ensuite vers le 2ème sommet, 6-7km plus loin. Une route moins fréquentée, agréable mais longue dans la forêt. Parfois, il faut faire un peu d'escalade.

We then go to the 2nd summit, 6-7km away. A trail less traveled, nice but long in the forest, with sometimes some rock climbing.

Surprise! Un beau spécimen de 水晶蘭 (traduction mot à mot: orchidée de cristal) caché au pied d'un arbre. Mais ce n'est pas une fleur, plutôt une espèce de champignon parasite.
Etrange plante frêle, pas facile à repérer.

Surprise! A specimen of 水晶蘭 (False Indian pipe) hidden under a tree. The Chinese name means Crystal orchid but it is not a flower, rather a kind of parasite mushroom. 
Strange fragile plant, not easy to spot.

11:30AM: l'heure de la pause déjeuner!

12PM: on continue.
Ici, on traverse une forêt de rhododendrons.

2PM: enfin, on voit les panneaux de télécommunication du 2ème sommet.
En beau temps, on a une vue panoramique superbe, mais pas aujourd'hui!

2PM: finally, we can see the telecommunication panels of the 2nd summit.
In clear days, we can enjoy a beautiful 360deg view, but not today!

Voilà, au sommet de 東卯山 1690m. On est venus par le chemin derrière la barrière.
Après une pause café, il faut descendre maintenant. 6.5km à faire, et la menace de l'orage plane.

Here we are at the summit of 東卯山 1690m. We came by the trail behind the fence.
After a coffee break, time to go down. 6.5km to go, and the storm is threatening.

4:30PM: quand on voit le grand temple de 谷關大道院, la rando est enfin finie.
Fatigués mais heureux!
