Boutique Louis Vuitton aux Champs Elysées (Paris, France)

C'est bien la première fois que je vais à ce genre d'endroit, ayant cédé à une requête de shopping d'un collègue. On (Cliff, Sophie, et moi) a été à la boutique principale des Champs Elysées. Beaucoup de monde, de touristes frénétiques d'Asie, Chinoises, Taïwanaises, Japs, dont les yeux brillent d'extase d'être arrivées au paradis.
Et à l'aéroport, l'air de rien, on voit en effet partout des LV au bras des voyageuses fières d'exhiber leurs trophées de shopping. Superbe coup de marketing de LV!


I went to a Louis Vuitton shop for the first time (with Cliff and Sophie) to buy a bag for a co-worker. We went to the boutique on the Champs Elysées. Many frantic female tourists from Asia (China, Taiwan, Japan), all eyes shining for having discovered paradise on earth.
At the airport, the same ladies would proudly exhibit their brand new LV as shopping trophies. Superb marketing job from LV.

Cette année, on a eu droit à un Nouvel An Chinois glacial en France! Heureusement, quand même quelques (rares) journées ensoleillées et l'occasion de découvrir la forêt d'Armainvilliers avec Alieng .
Je dis découvrir car je ne connaissais pas cette piste de forêt pourtant si près de la maison. L'an prochain, je vais amener mes chaussures de rando pour sûr.


The weather was chilly this year in France for the Chinese New Year vacation. Still, a few sunny days and the occasion to discover the forest of Armainvilliers with Alieng. No catch but we did see a few deers.
Oddly enough, I was unaware of the hiking possibilities in the forest despite being so near from home, but next year, I will definitively bring my hiking shoes along.

Exposition Van Gogh à Taipei (Taïwan)

Lieu: Exposition Van Gogh au Musée National d'Histoire à Taipei

Aujourd'hui, on a été à l'Institut Français à Taipei faire le visa pour la France de Cliff, et profité de l'après-midi pour voir l'expo Van Gogh. Il faut éviter les jours fériés, car c'est en général un vrai cirque laissant peu de place à une appréciation paisible des tableaux.

Il y a en tout une centaine de dessins et tableaux, provenant du Musée Kröller-Müller aux Pays-Bas.
Mon préferé est "La route avec cyprès et ciel étoile".



Today, we went to the much advertised exposition of Van Gogh drawings and paintings in Taipei. A total of 100+, from the Kröller-Müller Museum of the Netherlands. It is highly recommended to go on non-holidays to enjoy a peaceful art appreciation.
My favourite is "The road with cypress and stars".
