7AM: on quitte le centre, où on a campé sur son parking.

Le poste de contrôle est également déserté, depuis que la route a été endommagée par les typhons depuis 2009.

Everything is closed since the road has been damaged by typhoons since 2009.

9AM: stop au parc forestier de Tengjhih, de nouveau timidement ré-ouvert au public fin 2016.
Vu l'état des routes, peu de visiteurs bien sûr.
On rentre!

But very few visitors, not surprising considering the poor condition of the roads.

南一段 7ème jour: 石山 2818m (Taïwan)

7AM: la route de 石山林道 étant coupée à maints endroits, il faut parfois la contourner en passant par le haut, comme ici avec un détour par 石山.

7AM: with the forestry road damaged at many places, we have sometimes to pass over it, like here by 石山.

8:30AM: au pied de 石山.

石山 2818m, 38.6K, le petit cube qu'on a vu quelques jours avant.
On ne peut pas atteindre le sommet cependant.

Summit is not accessible however.

10:20AM: on revient de nouveau sur la route.

Rien d'extraordinaire.

Il faut de nouveau quitter la route endommagée en passant par 溪南山.

Once more, we shall leave the damaged road by passing by 溪南山.

3:15PM: retour à la civilisation, au centre d'études des espèces endémiques.
Il n'y a personne, mais de l'eau courante à volonté!

南一段 6ème jour: 卑南主山 3295m (Taïwan)

5:30AM: on part à l'assault du sommet 卑南主山 3295m.

5:30AM: we go to the summit of 卑南主山 3295m.

6AM: c'est fait.
Mon 76ème sommet!

6AM: done.
My 76th summit.

關山, le sommet pointu du 2ème jour, est si loin déjà.

Looking back.
關山, the summit of the 2nd day, is already so far away.

On retourne au campement.

We go back to the camp.

7:30AM: on range nos affaires et en route.

7:30AM: we pack our things and off we go to the next camp.

La descente se fait dans la forêt, avec des clairières de temps en temps.

The descent is in the forest, with open fields sometimes.

Casse-croûte.

Lunch time.

1PM: enfin, on arrive à la route forestière de 石山林道.

1PM: finally, we reach the forestry road of 石山林道.

Gîte pour ce soir.
Quel dommage que la route ne soit plus accessible par voiture. Cela nous aurait épargné 1-2 jours de marche.

Lodge for tonight.
What a pity the road is no more reachable by car. It would have saved us 1-2 days of hike.

南一段 5ème jour: au pied de 卑南主山 (Taïwan)

7AM: Il commence à avoir des nuages aujourd'hui.

7AM: Some clouds start to show up today.

8AM: au lieu dit de la grotte rocheuse, à 25.2K.
Des Bununs habitaient ici et faisaient de la résistance contre les Japs.

8AM: at the site named the rocky grotto, at 25.2K.
Bunun people used to live here and fought the Japs.

Des arbres poussent à même la roche.
Très joli endroit.

Trees grew on the rock.
Very nice place.

Le long de la piste, on renforce les bornes métriques quand besoin est.

On the trail, some distance signs need to be repaired.

Tout au fond sur la gauche, on voit la forme pyramidale de 關山, le sommet du 2ème jour.

In the left background, we can easily recognize the pyramidal shape of 關山, the summit of the 2nd day.

Le petit cube, c'est 石山 2818m, où on ira au 7ème jour.

The small cube is 石山 2818m, where we will go on the 7th day.

2PM: on approche du campement, au pied de 卑南主山.

2PM: we come near to camp, at the foot of 卑南主山.

2:30M: ça y est. Le campement est grand, il y a une mare, mais l'eau est déguelasse. Pour cause, les nombreux daims qui viennent y boire le soir et pissent dedans...

2:30PM: here we come. Camp is roomy, there is a pond, but water smells so bad. Because of the deers who come here to drink at night and pee.

南一段 4ème jour: 小關山 3249m (Taïwan)

7AM: il fait toujours beau.

7AM: still a sunny day.

On approche de 小關山.
Pas commode cette dernière pente.

We come near to 小關山.
Not an easy last slope.

10AM: au sommet, à 18.6K.
Mon 75ème sommet.

10AM: on top, at 18.6K.
My 75th summit.

On continue. Le soleil tape si fort!
Pas de zone d'ombre dans la prairie.

We continue. The sun is killing us!
No place to hide in the meadows.

Trouver de l'eau propre est toujours une priorité en montagne.
Il y a bien des mares mais souvent, l'eau est jaunâtre et pue la pisse de daim.
Quand il n'y a pas de choix, on ne peut que la filtrer, bouillir, et ajouter force thé et café pour faire passer ça.

Searching for fresh water is always a priority in the mountains.
We can find ponds but often, the water is yellowish and stinks deer pee. 
When no choice, all we can do is filter, boil it and add tea and coffee to try to cover the smell.

Pas très grand non plus.

Not so roomy.

Mais il y a de l'eau propre. 45min aller-retour.

But there is clean water. 45min round trip.
