Expo Modigliani au Musée de l'Orangerie (Paris, France)

 

En un matin très pluvieux, on a été faire l'expo Modigliani au musée de l'Orangerie.

Pas mal de monde. C'est conseillé de réserver par Internet pour éviter la queue. 12.5 euros le ticket.

On this very rainy day, we went to the exposition on Modigliani at the Museum of Orangerie.

Many people. Recommended to book tickets on-line to avoid queuing. 12.5 euros the ticket.

J'ai dû faire ce musée il y a 30-40 ans?

I have visited this museum before but maybe some 30-40 years ago?

La toile la plus célèbre du musée est Les Nymphéas de Monet.  C'est joli, mais sans plus.

Beaucoup de touristes en fait, dont des Asiatiques jouant au selfie. Quelle manie...

The most famous paintings of this museum is The Nympheas by Monet. Nice but nothing stunning.

Many tourists actually, with the Asians taking selfies. What a curious habit...

Par contre, j'ai toujours aimé les toiles du Douanier Rousseau.

I like the paintings of Douanier Rousseau more.

Balade à Chevreuse (Yvelines, France)

 

On a été se balader à Chevreuse, dans les Yvelines. Pas très grand mais charmant village.

We went to Chevreuse in Yvelines province. Not a big village but very charming.

A la sortie du RER B St-Rémy-les-Chevreuse, prendre la piste cyclable sur la gauche, direction Ferme de Coubertin.

At the exit of RER B station St-Rémy-les-Chevreuse, just follow the cycling trail on the left towards the Coubertain Farm.

C'est la campagne.

We are in the countryside.

15min plus tard, la Ferme de Coubertin sur la gauche.

On continue tout droit.

15min later, here comes the Coubertain Farm on the left.

We continue.

Encore 15min, on arrive à la Promenade des Petits Ponts ou des Tanneurs.

Another 15min and we come to the Little Bridge Promenade, or Tanners Promenade.

La Promenade n'est pas très longue mais très jolie, avec 22 petits ponts en tout. Certains mènent au centre-ville.

The Promenade is not very long but very charming, with 22 little bridges in total. Some of them going straight to the center of the village.

On voit bien le château de la Madeleine sur les hauteurs.

We can spot the Madeleine Castle on the heights.

Très belle vue sur la vallée de Chevreuse.

Le reste ne se visite pas.

Très belle visite recommandée.

Mais il faut marcher en tout 10km si on vient en RER.

The rest is closed to public.

Very nice worthy visit.

But need to walk maybe 10km in total if without car.

Notre-Dame de Paris toujours en réparation (France)

 

On revient d'un séjour en France, après 4 ans quand même.

Comme toujours, les chattes ont voulu faire partie du voyage!

We have just come back from a trip to France, after 4 years.

As usual, the cats wanted to be part of the journey!

Visite à Notre-Dame de Paris comme toujours.

Vue comme ça, on dirait que tout va bien.

Pas trop de monde, on n'entend pas un mot de Français!

Viewed from this side, seems nothing happened.

Not so many people but all non-French speaking basically.

Vue de côté, c'est tout autre chose! Plus de toit, plus de flèche.

Les ouvriers travaillent d'arrache pied pour rebâtir la cathédrale pour les JO 2024.

Viewed from the side, it is another story! No more roof, no more spire.

Workers are busy day and night to rebuild the cathedral to be ready for the 2024 OG.

La cathédrale est fermée bien sûr. 

Des panneaux nous expliquent les travaux en place pour la rebâtir.

Elle aura pris un sacré coup de jeune lors de sa ré-ouverture!

Will look much replenished when its re-opens!

Ici, il est dit que 2000 arbres (chênes) vont être nécessaires. Quel boulot!

On admirera ça l'an prochain dans toute sa splendeur nouvelle.

Here, it is explained that 2000 big oak trees will be necessary to the rebuild. What a daunting task!

Can't wait to visit it in its all new splendor next year.
