Népal 4ème jour: de Chitwan à Pokhara

On quitte Chitwan pour Pokhara aujourd'hui: 4 heures de route.
Petit stop dans un village.

Today, we leave Chitwan for Pokhara: a 4 hrs ride.
Stop in a village.

Une petite fille fait ses devoirs tout en gardant le magasin familial.
Les petits Népalais parlent très bien l'Anglais ici.

A little girl does her homework while tending to her family shop.
Nepalese kids speak a pretty good English.

Enfin, on approche de Pokhara, comme l'annonce la chaîne de l'Himalaya!
Cette 2ème ville du Népal n'a que 400000 habitants et la nonchalance règne.

Finally, we approach Pokhara, as announced by the Himalayan chain!
This 2nd town of Nepal only has 400000 people and leisureness prevails.

Notre hôtel à Pokhara est très spécial aussi, sur le lac Phewa.
On y accède par une plateforme flottante tirée par une corde.

Our hotel in Pohkara is very special too, located on Phewa lake.
We get there on a floating platform pulled by a rope.

Le passeur tire et arrange la corde en jolis cercles concentriques.

The boat man pulls and arranges the rope in nice concentric circles.

Les chambres sont arrangées en bâtiment circulaire.

Rooms are arranged in a circular building.

Les chambres sont simples mais ont un charme particulier.

Rooms are simply decorated but have a special charm.

C'est la farniente: on admire le lac et la chaîne enneigée de l'Himalaya, l'Annapurna 8091m à gauche, le sommet pointu du Machhapucchre (ou Fishtail) 6997m à droite.

It is leisure time: just admire the lake and the snowy Himalayan chain, the Annapurna 8091m on the left, the Fishtail peak 6997m (or Machhapucchre) on the right.

Le sommet s'appelle Fishtail car on dirait une queue de poisson sur sa face ouest, qu'on ne voit pas de Pokhara.

The summit is named Fishtail because it kind of looks like one on its west side. But we cannot see it from Pokhara.

L'après-midi, on va visiter divers temples, dont le temple Hindu de Bindabasini, où se déroulent souvent des mariages.
Seuls les Hindus peuvent entrer dedans.

In the afternoon, we go visit several temples, including this Hindu Bindabasini temple, where weddings often take place.
Only Hindus can get inside.

La mariée pose gentiment pour nous touristes, dans son sari étincelant.

The bride nicely allows us to take pictures, in her vivid sari.

Puis elle va sonner les cloches pour s'annoncer aux dieux.

Then, she rings the bells to introduce her to the Gods.
