We went to Chevreuse in Yvelines province. Not a big village but very charming.
At the exit of RER B station St-Rémy-les-Chevreuse, just follow the cycling trail on the left towards the Coubertain Farm.
C'est la campagne. We are in the countryside.
15min later, here comes the Coubertain Farm on the left.
We continue.
Another 15min and we come to the Little Bridge Promenade, or Tanners Promenade.
The Promenade is not very long but very charming, with 22 little bridges in total. Some of them going straight to the center of the village.
The old place to dry the leather.
Old scenic stones with a story to tell.
The washing place, with Saint-Martin church in the background.
We can spot the Madeleine Castle on the heights.
Typical steep lane of villages from the Middle Ages.
Last stone stairs to the Castle.
Free entrance to the castle.
Not many people on weekdays.
Beautiful view of the Chevreuse valley.
A quiet afternoon at the castle.
La cour intérieure avec un puits.
Le chemin de garde.
The inner courtyard and a well.
The wall walk.
The rest is closed to public.
Very nice worthy visit.
But need to walk maybe 10km in total if without car.
