Today, we hiked from 出磺坑 to the temple of 法雲寺.
2km one way, in less than 1 hour.
Départ de ce temple à 出磺坑 .Departure from this temple at 出磺坑 .
We take this alley just nearby.
Continuer sur la gauche qui grimpe toujours.
Qui dit bambous dit humidité et moustiques.
On s'approche du temple.
The trail is quite steep.
Continue to the left still quite steep.
It rained yesterday evening here apparently. It is slippery and swarming with mosquitos!
We should have come 1 month later when it is cooler.
View on the express road 72 where we came from.
Another crossraods. Take the left which keeps climbing.
Impossible to get lost actually, just follow the sign labels left by the mountain clubs.
Finally to the real trailhead.
Bamboos mean humidity and mosquitos.
We walk fast in order not to be bitten!
Approaching the temple.
Past the gate is the buddhist temple of 法雲寺.
The quiet temple, with nuns only.
Et même des singes.
And cats. And even monkeys.
With a large plaza in front with a beautiful view.
Nice view on the area of 大湖, and 泰安, if we continue further into the mountains.
We often go to this area in the countryside.
The temple has a beautiful statue of Buddha in jade from Maynmar, I think.
The nuns have their own vegetable and fruit gardens. Here, they are preparing camellia seeds for drying, then pressing to make a cooking oil, rich in omega 9 and expensive here at 25euros the half-liter.
This is not durians, but jackfruits.
I don't like it so much.
We go back to 出磺坑, which is said to be one of the first oil and gas extraction, from 1861 to the 1990's.
Nowadays, CPC China Petroleum has converted the site into a museum.
Here, we have a 504m long track for cable carts.
Which used to carry people and various tools.
A lot of families used to live here during its glorious years. It was a small bustling town. Today, only remain the empty houses and dormitories, although quite well preserved.
We can still see the old drilling sites.
End of this hike + cultural journey.
