Lac 嘉明湖 3310m (Mars 2008, Taïwan)

Cette belle rando très fréquentée de 3 jours nous emmène au lac Jiaming (嘉明湖), formé, dit-on, par un météorite.

This popular nice 3-day hike takes us to Jiaming Lake, said to be created by a meteorite.

Rando pas difficile mais quand même avec des belles pentes comme celle pour aller en haut du grand éboulement de Siangyang.

An easy hike but still with steep climbs like going to the top of the large collapse of Siangyang (向陽大崩壁).

Voilà, on est en haut de ce très célèbre éboulement de 向陽大崩壁, qu'on voit très bien sur la route transversale Sud (南橫公路).

Here we are on top of this famous big collapse of 向陽大崩壁, clearly seen from the South Cross-island highway (南橫公路).

Le refuge de Jiaming, où on va passer 2 nuits.

The Jiaming shelter 嘉明湖避難山屋, where we are to spend 2 nights.

2ème jour: on part pour le lac. En regardant en arrière, le refuge est déjà tout au loin!

2nd day: going to the lake. Looking back, the shelter is already in the far distance!

Derrière moi, ce sont des sommets célèbres de la rando 南二段, qui se fait en 7 jours. Je la ferai bien un de ces jours!

On continue en traversant d'immenses prairies de bambous.

The hike continues with very large bamboo meadows.

Finalement, on arrive au lac, à 3310m d'altitude!
En beau temps, le lac prend des reflets bleu royal superbes. Mais bon, pas cette fois.
Le soir, des cerfs viennent y boire, comme en témoignent leurs crottes partout.
Très belle rando!

Finally, we reach the lake, at 3310m high!
In sunny days, the lake would exhibit beautiful royal blue colours, but well, not today.
Deers would come to the lake at night, as shown by their poops all around.
Very scenic hike!
