Laos 7ème jour: temple du Bouddha géant à Paksé

On a changé d’hôtel et on est maintenant dans la ville neuve de Paksé. La chambre offre une très belle vue sur le Mékong mais l'ensemble ne vaut vraiment pas ses 55USD la nuit.

Il s’en construit beaucoup ici dernièrement.

We moved to a new hotel in the new town of Pakse. From our room, we can have a very nice view over the Mekong river but overall quality is really not worth the 55USD per night.

Many new constructions take place here lately.

Vers la fin d’après-midi, on décide d’aller voir le temple d’à côté, avec une statue géante de Bouddha au sommet d’une colline, qu'on voit partout dans la ville.

Il faut d’abord traverser le pont Laos-Japon, long de 1.4km, construit en l’an 2000.

Beaucoup de joggers.

By late afternoon, we decide to go visit the nearby temple, with a giant statue of Buddha at the top of a hill, that can be spotted everywhere in the town.

We first cross the 1.4km long Lao-Nippon bridge, built in year 2000.

Many joggers.

On arrive au pied du temple, avec un long escalier gardé par deux Nagas.

Le temple est tout neuf, encore en construction ça et là.

We come to the foot of the temple, with a long staircase guarded by 2 Nagas.

The temple is very new, still in construction here and there.

Tout au bout, se trouve une première statue de Bouddha.

At the end, we can find a first statue of Buddha.

On peut continuer en haut par un autre escalier en bois.

We can continue to the top by another wooden staircase.

Et là, on arrive à la statue géante de Bouddha au sommet de la colline.

And there, we reach the giant statue of Buddha at the top of the hill.

Au sommet, on peut admirer une belle vue panoramique de Paksé, avec le vieux centre-ville à gauche.

At the top, we can have a nice panorama of Pakse, with old downtown at the left.

Avec coucher de soleil sur le Mékong.

And sunset over the Mekong river.

Il est tard, on rentre!

It is late, we walk back to the hotel.
